The Economics of Dropbox

As we mentioned in an earlier post we've found a wealth of information when researching this project.

Here is a really interesting article from  in 2011. The underlying analysis is here.

Fun with Dropbox Press Pack

Dropbox have a pack available for download.

In it there are lots of fun artwork. We've used these as part of the main Social Networking page to keep with the Dropbox brand.

How do I get it?

"I love it, I love it! ... What is it?"

The last video explained what Dropbox is for. There are many others (all very similar) that show how to install Dropbox and how to use it. Here is the perhaps the best:

It's a bit dedicated to Mac users but apart from that is a succinct introduction to the technology from a reputable disinterested third party (MacWorld).

What is Dropbox?

I could blather on about what it is and what it does. But I won't.

Here's something with much neater production values:

The Project!

The Deeply Dippy Dropbox Project is inspired by the Internet and Digital Marketing Course at the LSBF.

For our project we have to:
1) Write a report where you discuss and suggest at least three non-price
differentiation strategies which the Dropbox can adopt to capture a
dominant share of the market.
2) Include in the report your recommendations on how these various strategies
can be promoted most effectively, using examples of other non-competitor
success stories on the web.
3) As two of the promotional strategies mentioned in point 2 above is the use
of a blog and social network page, create both of these features, illustrating
how these may operate in support of the promotional strategy of DropBox.
4) Create and present a suitable Power Point presentation illustrating both the
pages you have created as well as your recommendations to the client. The
presentation should be recorded and uploaded to your favourite video
sharing site, adding a link to the presentation to your written report.

So we've been busy researching all we can find about Dropbox! We have to say, we love it!
